action

Just at the very early morning when Peter Brahm is about to kick his paddle boat off the banks of the Inn, a pretty young girl in a tattered costume and disheveled hairstyle appears and begs him to take her with him. On the way she makes it clear to the young man that she wants to be treated like a lady of the world; only because of a few unfavorable circumstances did she need his help. Her father, the well-known industrialist Faber, put her in boarding school , and from there she escaped this morning because she was longing for her admirer Ferry.

While Peter sets up his tent in the evening, his companion passes the time with a manicure . For her it is also a matter of course that she can spend the night in a tent and that Peter sleeps in his boat regardless of the coolness of the night. Now he wishes he hadn't taken Karin Faber with him. The next morning the journey continues down the Inn. When Peter slips out a derogatory opinion about his companion, she tries to slap him in the face, but loses her balance in the whirlpool and has to take an involuntary bath. At the last moment, Peter manages to save the girl.

Ferry got the message from Karin that she was coming down the Inn on a boat. So, accompanied by the pretty but simple-minded mannequin Edith, he moves into an observation post on the river bank, where the missing person is likely to pass. Father Faber has also started looking for his daughter. He hired a detective to support him.

From day to day, Peter and Karin realize that they actually fit together quite well. So it happens that - the closer the goal is in sight - each of the two tries to move forward as slowly as possible. In the meantime, the former fighters have also agreed to spend the night together in a tent.

The destination is a large campsite, where Peter and Karin von Ferry are expected by his paddlers. But when the latter realizes that Karin has undergone a major change, he doesn't want to know anything more about her and tries to escape with the beautiful Edith. Finally, Papa Faber comes to appreciate his daughter's new boyfriend because he managed to tame the stubborn girl.

criticism

The lexicon of international films draws the following conclusion: "Atmospheric landscape photography in a forced, happy film about the love affairs of young people, which makes every effort to avoid realistic conflicts with simulated innocence."
