Ullrich Panndorf

Ullrich Panndorf (* 1954 in Dresden ) is a German painter and graphic artist .

Life

Ullrich Panndorf, son of Fritz and Margarete Panndorf, grew up in Dresden- Hellerau . After training to become a draftsman with a high school diploma, he worked as an excavation assistant at the Prehistory and Protohistory Institute in Dresden. From 1976 to 1981 he studied painting and graphics at the Dresden Academy of Fine Arts , where he graduated with Günter Horlbeck . In 1983 he was expatriated from the GDR and moved to West Berlin . He is a freelancer and has lived and worked in Weimar since 1994 .

Dealing with the complexity of nature leads in Ullrich Panndorf's work to “pictorial forms in which pictorial, representational elements take a back seat in favor of an autonomous impression of the composition.” These references always play a role in his small to large-format drawings, graphics and paintings fundamental role, but without being a reproduction of it.
