Ulrich Aust

Ulrich Aust (born February 16, 1942 in Bautzen ; † July 30, 1992 in Radebeul ) was a German architect and preservationist , from 1983 as a master builder in Dresden .

Born in Bautzen in 1942, Aust studied architecture at the Technical University of Dresden from 1963 . Even during his studies he campaigned for the preservation of historically valuable architectural monuments .

From 1971 Aust worked for the Dresden State Art Collections . After tasks in the reconstruction of the Dresden Residenzschloss , he was appointed master builder in 1983 .

In Radebeul, where he lived in the Meinholdschen Turmhaus in the Oberlößnitz district from 1978 , he made a special contribution to the renovation of the Hohenhaus , the Hoflößnitz and the associated Spitzhaus staircase and also took care of the preservation and renovation of numerous historic vineyard walls in the historic Radebeul vineyard landscape .

For his commitment, Aust received, among other things, the GDR Art Prize and the Silver Hemisphere of the German National Committee for Monument Protection .

Aust was buried in the Naundorf-Zitzschewig cemetery.
