Ulrich Fick

Ulrich Fick (born December 13, 1923 in Heilbronn ; † April 11, 2019 in Schorndorf ) was a German theologian , publicist, pastor of the Württemberg regional church , senior church councilor and its first radio pastor .

Life

In addition to studying theology , Ulrich Gotthelf Fick also completed a traineeship at the Süddeutscher Rundfunk . He spent his vicariate in Stuttgart . This was followed by a repetition period at the Evangelical Monastery in Tübingen . From 1956 he was the first radio pastor of the Württemberg regional church, not least because of his linguistic precision and eloquence. From 1961 to 1967 he was program director of the Protestant mission station "Radio Voice of the Gospel" of the Lutheran World Federation in Addis Ababa / Ethiopia. Back in Baden-Württemberg, Fick headed the Department for Mission, Ecumenism and the Public in the Upper Church Council in Stuttgart from 1967 to 1972. In addition, he was chairman of the Württemberg Bible Society and , from 1968, of the German Bible Society . From 1973 until his retirement in 1988, Fick was General Secretary of the World Federation of Bible Societies and then lived in Schorndorf .

Fick was the author of several books as well as audio series, films and school radio programs. He was also a member of the Scientific Advisory Board of the Hermann Art Foundation for the promotion of New Testament text research .
