It is a foundation under private law and has its seat in Münster .
The foundation bodies are the board of directors, the board of trustees and the scientific advisory board.
Origin and tasks
The Foundation for the Promotion of New Testament Text Research was established in 1964 and renamed in 1977 after its founder, Bishop Hermann Kunst (1907–1999), in the Hermann Art Foundation for the Promotion of New Testament Text Research. Men such as Federal President Theodor Heuss and Bishop Otto Dibelius were at his side in establishing it.
