Rainer Meusel
Ernst Rainer Meusel (born June 29, 1936 in Magdeburg ) is a German lawyer and author.
Meusel grew up in Naumburg and fled to West Germany in 1953 due to persecution as a member of the “Young Community”. In 1955 he passed his Abitur in Bad Godesberg and began studying veterinary medicine . In 1956 he began to study law at the University of Bonn . In 1965 he received his doctorate in law. After completing his studies, he initially worked as the head of the legal department of a metal processing company in Bergheim / Erft. He later worked as administrative director and deputy managing director of a mineral oil company in Düsseldorf and as personnel and finance director of a mechanical engineering group, Jagenberg AG , in Düsseldorf and Neuss .
From 1995 to 1996 Meusel headed the Hephata Evangelical Foundation in Mönchengladbach , of which he chaired the board of trustees until 2007. From 1985 to 2007 he was a member of the Presidium of the German Evangelical Church Congress in Fulda, and from 1995 he was a member of the board. From 1995 to 1997 he was President of the German Evangelical Church Congress. Meusel is the initiator of the Arbeit plus workplace seal . He was a member of the Synod of the Evangelical Church in Germany and chairman of the budget committee from 1997 to 2007 and held numerous honorary positions.
Meusel is also active as a children's book author. His works include The Seven Tränensteine (2002), How the moles caught a thief (2010) and King Immerzu (2012).
