Ulrich Gerstner

Ulrich Gerstner (* 1954 in Nienburg (Saale) ) is a German politician ( SPD ).

Life

Gerstner completed vocational training with a high school diploma at the Staßfurt soda plant . He later studied business administration at the Technical University of Magdeburg , as well as vocational education at the Technical University of Dresden . Gerstner then worked as a vocational school teacher at the Bernburg cement works. In 1990 he became head of the industrial and technical vocational school in Bernburg. From 1994 to 2007 he was district administrator for the district of Bernburg . When the district became part of the new salt district on July 1, 2007 in the course of the district reform in Saxony-Anhalt , Gerstner became district administrator of the new district. In 2014 he decided not to run again and resigned from this office. Markus Bauer became the new district administrator .

In addition to his work as District Administrator, Gerstner was Vice President of the Saxony-Anhalt District Assembly from 2001 to June 1, 2013 . On June 1, 2013, he became the new president of the district assembly , replacing Michael Ermrich , who became executive president of the East German Savings Banks Association at the end of June . The District Administrator of the Burgenland District Harri Reiche became the new Vice President . Gerstner himself held the office of President until he resigned as District Administrator in 2014. Michael Ziche became the new President of the Saxony-Anhalt District Assembly .

In December 2016 he received the Federal Cross of Merit on ribbon .
