Markus Bauer (* 1971 in Calbe (Saale) ) is a German politician ( SPD ) and district administrator in the Salzlandkreis . He has been Deputy Chairman of the SPD Saxony-Anhalt since 2016 .

Life and work

Markus Bauer completed vocational training in the craft sector and then obtained his technical college entrance qualification . He then committed himself to the Bundeswehr for twelve years . During this time, Markus Bauer completed a degree in business law at the Anhalt University of Applied Sciences . Markus Bauer has been a visiting professor at the Technical University in Perm ( Russia ) since 2010 . Markus Bauer is married and has three daughters. He is also a member of the German-Russian Forum .

Public offices

From 2001 to 2014 Markus Bauer was mayor of the city of Nienburg (Saale) . In 2009 he was confirmed in office with 63 percent of the votes in the first ballot. Bauer has been the district administrator of the Salzlandkreis since 2014. In November 2016, the Salzlandkreis won the Political Award in the campaigns category by the federal, state and local governments for the support concept for refugees - social guides in action.

Since 2004 Markus Bauer has been a member of the district council of the former Bernburg district . In 2007 he was elected to the district council of the Salzlandkreis.

Political party

Markus Bauer has been a member of the state executive committee of the SPD Saxony-Anhalt since 2013 and deputy chairman of the SPD Saxony-Anhalt since 2016 . From 2007 to 2014 Markus Bauer was district chairman of the SPD Salzlandkreis.
