Jürgen Dannenberg

Jürgen Dannenberg (born June 11, 1952 in Torgau ) is a local politician of the party Die Linke in the state of Saxony-Anhalt and since 2007 district administrator of the district of Wittenberg .

Life

After training as a fitter for agricultural engineering with a high school diploma, Dannenberg completed a university degree from which he graduated as a social scientist. He then worked as a secretary for agriculture in the Jessen district leadership of the Socialist Unity Party of Germany (SED). From 1990 he worked as a regional employee of the Party of Democratic Socialism (PDS) in the Anhalt region and as a local politician for the PDS and later the Left Party and Die Linke. From 1993 he headed the health and social committee of the Wittenberg district council , and since 1994 he has been chairman of the PDS parliamentary group in the district council.

On May 6, 2007 Dannenberg was in a ballot voted with 54.0 percent of the vote to the District Administrator of Wittenberg. In the runoff election on June 22, 2014, he was confirmed in office with 56.1 percent of the vote.

Jürgen Dannenberg is married and has two sons.
