Martin Stichnoth

Martin Stichnoth (* 6. July 1977 in Wolmirstedt ) is a German politician ( CDU ) and since 2018 District Administrator of the district Borde .

Life

Stichnoth grew up in Wolmirstedt and attended the Adolph Diesterweg elementary school there, as well as the Kurfürst-Joachim-Friedrich-Gymnasium Wolmirstedt . After he graduated from high school in 1996 , he then completed an apprenticeship as an administrative clerk at the Ohrekreis , which he completed in 1999. From 1999 he worked in various functions and departments in the district, including as a clerk. In addition to his professional activities, he completed further training as an administrative specialist at the Saxony-Anhalt Study Institute for Municipal Administration in Magdeburg, which he completed in 2004.

Stichnoth has been a member of the CDU since 2009. Also from 2009 he was a member of the city council of Wolmirstedt. In February 2013 he was elected mayor of Wolmirstedt. He took office on March 12, 2013. Furthermore, he was elected to the district council of the Börde district in 2014. From July 2014, he chaired the CDU parliamentary group there.

In October 2017, Stichnoth was nominated by his party as a candidate for the upcoming district election in the Börde district and was thus able to prevail against the previous incumbent Hans Walker . In 2011 he was still inferior to this in the candidate list. On March 18, 2018, he received the majority of the votes cast in the district election with 48.8%, but missed the required majority, so that a run-off election was necessary on April 8. This time he received 70.9% of the votes cast. On August 29, 2018 he was sworn in as district administrator. He took office on September 7th. At the same time he resigned as mayor of Wolmirstedt. The non-party Marlies Cassuhn was elected as his successor.

Stichnoth has been married since 2005.
