Martin Skiebe

Martin Skiebe (born August 3, 1959 in Quedlinburg ) is a German architect and local politician ( CDU ). He is the district administrator of the Harz district in Saxony-Anhalt .

Life

In 1978 Skiebe graduated from EOS Quedlinburg . After one and a half years of basic military service , he completed an internship at the PGH Hoch- und Betonbau in Quedlinburg. From 1980 to 1985 Skiebe studied architecture at the Technical University of Dresden . He completed his studies as a qualified engineer specializing in architecture. Subsequently he worked as a project engineer and site manager at the PGH Hoch- und Betonbau until 1990 . In 1990 he moved to the district administration of Quedlinburg , where he worked as building department until June 2007. From April 2007 until the dissolution of the Quedlinburg district, he served as district administrator. With the formation of the Harz district on July 1, 2007, Skiebe became head of the building and environmental administration.

In November 2008 he became the deputy of District Administrator Michael Ermrich and, after his resignation from the district administration on June 1, 2013, took over the office of District Administrator of the Harz District in Halberstadt until the new election on September 1, 2013 . In the district election on September 1, 2013, he ran for the CDU and received 45.46% of the vote. In the runoff election on September 22, 2013, he prevailed against Dirk Michelmann (SPD) with 62.39%. In September 2014 he joined the CDU. In October 2019, he announced that he would no longer stand in the next district election in July 2020. Thomas Balcerowski was elected as his successor .

Martin Skiebe is married and has four children.
