Hartmut Handschak

Hartmut Handschak (* 1961 in Guteborn ) is a German local politician ( independent ) and since 2019 District Administrator of the Saalekreis in Saxony-Anhalt . As deputy (since 2015) of his predecessor Frank Bannert , he represented him from 2017 until his death in 2019.

Career

Handschak comes from Lausitz and studied process engineering in Merseburg . After working as an engineer at IMO Merseburg (from 1987 to 1989), he was a member of the district administration from 1991 (at that time the district of Merseburg , later the district of Merseburg-Querfurt and Saalekreis ). Here he held various positions, for example he was head of the environmental agency from 1994 to 2007 and then became head of district development. He was elected as deputy district administrator in 2015. From 2017 to 2019 he represented the sick district administrator Frank Bannert . After Bannert's death in July 2019, the non-party Handschak ran in the district election on September 29, 2019. His candidacy was supported by the CDU , SPD and FDP . He won the election with 54.49% of the vote against four competitors.

Life

Handschak is married and has one son. He lives in Merseburg.
