Michael Ziche

Michael Ziche (born September 9, 1961 in Salzwedel ) is a German politician ( CDU ) and since July 2008 District Administrator of the Altmarkkreis Salzwedel .

Life

After finishing school, Ziche completed an apprenticeship as an agricultural engineer and mechanizer. After completing his military service, Ziche worked in the administration. During his professional career, he was, among other things, an employee of the employment office with responsibility for issues relating to community service. After the fall of the Wall , he worked in the district administration and headed the main office. He then became district treasurer . In 2008 he ran for the office of District Administrator of the Altmarkkreis Salzwedel. After no candidate was able to achieve the required majority in the first round on February 24, 2008, Ziche prevailed in the runoff election on March 9 against incumbent Hans-Jürgen Ostermann ( SPD ). Ziche took office in July. On September 4, 2014, he was elected President of the Saxony-Anhalt District Assembly, replacing Ulrich Gerstner .

On February 22, 2015, he was re-elected as district administrator with 74% of the votes cast.

Ziche has been married since 1981 and has two daughters.
