Thomas Balcerowski

Thomas Balcerowski (born April 3, 1972 in Quedlinburg ) is a German lawyer and local politician ( CDU ).

Life

Thomas Balcerowski attended the Geschwister-Scholl-Schule and the V. POS in Thale . He then did vocational training as a skilled worker for automated systems at VEB Eisenhüttenwerk Thale (EHW) . At the Volkshochschule Quedlinburg he obtained his higher education entrance qualification by taking his Abitur in 1992. From 1992 to 1997 he completed a law degree at the Martin Luther University in Halle (Saale) , which he completed with the second state examination and the qualification forCompleted judge's office . From 1999 he worked as a lawyer in Quedlinburg.

In 1990 he joined the CDU and was chairman of the district association Quedlinburg from 1998 to 2004, then parliamentary group leader of the CDU in the district council. In 1999 he was elected to the City Council of Thale. In the mayoral election of the city of Thale on May 6, 2001, Balcerowski prevailed against three other candidates with 60.7% of the vote.

On July 5, 2020, Balcerowski was elected District Administrator of the Harz District with 55.35% of the vote . He will take over the office of his predecessor Martin Skiebe on November 1, 2020.

Thomas Balcerowski is married and has four children. He lives in Thale.
