Ulrich Wilhelm Klöckner

Ulrich Wilhelm Klöckner (born May 27, 1957 in Wissen ) is a German diplomat . He has been the German ambassador to Sudan since 2016 .

Life

After graduating from high school in Mönchengladbach , Klöckner did his military service between 1976 and 1977 and then completed a law degree , which he completed in 1983 with the first state examination and 1986 with the second state examination. Then he entered the Foreign Service , and found after the end of the attaché training in 1988 using the Foreign Ministry and then from 1989 to 1992 at the Embassy in the Philippines .

After another use in the Foreign Office, he was from 1995 to 1996 at the US State Department in Washington, DC as part of the international exchange of officials. He then stayed in Washington, where he worked at the embassy in the United States until 1998 . After his return he was first deputy head of department in the Foreign Office and then from 1999 to 2002 deputy head of department in the office of the ministers of state . After working at the embassy in Japan , he was head of division at the Foreign Office between 2005 and 2009.

Ulrich Klöckner was ambassador to Mozambique from October 2009 to 2013 . Afterwards he was ambassador of the German embassy in Zimbabwe until 2016 and then switched to the Sudan as ambassador .
