Ulrich Lewin

Ulrich Lewin (born February 5, 1890 in Neustettin ; † April 8, 1950 in Bleicherode ) was a German painter and graphic artist .

From 1909 to 1913 he attended the Stettin School of Applied Arts and from 1913 to 1914 the teaching institution of the Berlin Museum of Applied Arts . Then worked as a freelance painter and graphic artist in Bremen and then in Stettin .

In Szczecin he exhibited at exhibitions of the Pomeranian Artists 'Association , the Pomeranian Association for Arts and Crafts and the Pomeranian Artists' Association . Public institutions in Szczecin, including the Heilandskirche and the Reichsluftschutzbund , acquired his works.

From 1944 Lewin did military service. After the war, when Stettin came to Poland , he went to Bleicherode in Thuringia , where his family had fled . He became a member of the Kulturbund , was able to exhibit in Bleicherode in 1946 and in Nordhausen in 1947 , and contributed art reviews to the journal " Schöpferische Gegenwart " published by the Thuringia regional management of the Kulturbund . He died in 1950.

In 1987 the Galerie im Rieth in Erfurt organized a work exhibition.
