Ulrich Maier (monk)

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Ulrich III. Maier († January 31, 1465 in Muri ) was a Swiss Benedictine monk . He was abbot of the Muri monastery in the free offices (in today's canton of Aargau ).

It is not known exactly when Maier took up the post of abbot. But it must have been around the year 1439. The first documentary mention took place on July 1, 1439 on the occasion of the payment of his annates . Maier may have come from Zurich , as the city had advocated a reduction in the amount.
