Ulrich Papenkort

Ulrich Papenkort (born May 27, 1956 in Hagen ) is a German educational scientist and university professor.

Life

After training as a nursing assistant in 1977, Ulrich Papenkort studied educational science from 1977 to 1986 at the Universities of Trier and Münster with a diploma as well as history , philosophy and sociology . He then worked as a research assistant at the Chair of General Education at the Catholic University of Eichstätt-Ingolstadt until 1993 , where he received his doctorate in 1991 .

From 1993 to 2002 he was a specialist in health and family education in the adult education department of the Vicariate General of the Archdiocese of Cologne . Ulrich Papenkort has been Professor of Education and Theater at the Catholic University of Mainz since 2002, and has been the Dean of the Faculty of Social Work and Social Sciences since 2008 . His main research interests are general pedagogy , adult didactics , theater pedagogy and advice. In addition to his university activities, Ulrich Papenkort works in his own practice as a certified coach and in the Theater im Keller in Bonn as an actor and director .

On September 1, 2020, he was elected Rector of the Catholic University of Mainz.
