Ulrike Arens-Azevêdo

Ulrike Arens-Azevêdo (* 1949 in Siegen ) is an ecotrophologist and was President of the German Nutrition Society from 2016 to 2019 . One of the topics she examined is “Quality assurance in school catering”.

Life

Ulrike Arens-Azevêdo studied nutrition and household sciences at the Rheinische Friedrich-Wilhelms-Universität Bonn from 1967 to 1971 and graduated with a diploma . From 1972 to 1974 a master's degree in public health followed at the Universidade Federal de Pernambuco in Recife in Brazil . From 1975 to 1989 she worked first as a teacher and later as headmistress at the home economics vocational school and technical school of the Lette Association in Berlin .

In 1989 she was appointed professor of nutritional science at the Hamburg University of Applied Sciences (HAW), where she taught at the Faculty of Life Sciences until 2015 .

In October 2016 she was elected President of the German Nutrition Society for the next three years.
