Yoshihiro Asai (born December 12, 1966 in Nagoya , Aichi ), better known as Último Dragón , is a Japanese wrestler . In addition to his training in Japan, Asai learned Lucha Libre style wrestling in Mexico . Yoshihiro Asai made the " Springboard or Asai Moonsault " known in the wrestling world.
Career
Beginnings in Japan
Asai trained in the NJPW Dōjō and made his debut in 1987 at New Japan Pro Wrestling (NJPW) as Último Dragón . This was followed by stations in the Japanese independent wrestling scene (e.g. Super World Sports or Wrestle Association-R ). Due to its small size, he went to Mexico to join Consejo Mundial De Lucha Libre , where he made his debut in November 1991. In Mexico, Asai learned the Lucha Libre style.
Japan / America
Asai performed in both Mexico and Japan (including New Japan Pro-Wrestling ). At NJPW , Asai won the IWGP Junior Heavyweight title on November 22, 1992 . At Wrestle Association-R he formed a tag team with today's WWE Superstar Rey Mysterio .
Asai first performed in Canada in 1995 . There he was allowed to win the IWA Junior Heavyweight title from Chris Jericho .
In 1996 Asai signed a contract with World Championship Wrestling (WCW). There he made his debut on August 10, 1996, initially as Ultimate Dragon . He later appeared again as Último Dragón . At WCW he won the WCW World Television title twice and the WCW Cruiserweight title twice .
In 1997 Asai founded his own league: Toryumon Mexico .
After an unsuccessful arm operation, Asai temporarily ended his career in 1998.
Return to the wrestling business / WWE
In September 2002, Asai returned to the wrestling business.
In May 2003, Asai played several dark matches at World Wrestling Entertainment (WWE). In June he signed a contract with the WWE. His contract was running. On April 22, 2004, Asai requested his release from WWE to wrestle again in Japan
Independent
After his contract was not renewed Asai appeared again in Independent Promotions (New Japan Pro Wrestling, Consejo Mundial De Lucha Libre or Nu-Wrestling Evolution ).
Asai first appeared in Europe in October 2005 . On October 22nd and 29th he performed on NWE Destiny (Nu-Wrestling Evolution).
