Ultra is the third studio album by the German band Ost + Front .

history

In 2015 guitarist Gernhardt von Brüh left the band. His successor was Otto Schmalzmann that same year.

On October 30, 2015, the single Sternenkinder, reduced to 999 copies, was released . The accompanying music video appeared at the same time. In addition to the original song Sternenkinder , the single also features two remixes for the song. One is from Blutengel , the second from Rob Dust . The orchestral version of Moldau can be found as the fourth song . The song is based on Die Moldau by the Bohemian composer Bedřich Smetana .

The album Ultra was released on January 29, 2016 on the Out of Line label and was distributed by Rough Trade Distribution .

Music videos were created for the songs Sternenkinder and Bruderherz, both under the direction of Carlos Toro.

The song Fiesta De Sexo is sung in Spanish with Erk Aicrag, singer of the band Hocico . In the event of suicide , Ost + Front receives musical support from B. Deutung .

Reviews

The third album was praised by the trade press for being more diverse than its predecessor. In addition, they have detached themselves more from the music known from Rammstein and set the template again. Only Metal Hammer reduced the album, just like its predecessors, to a Rammstein copy and insulted the group as Germany's most brazen plagiarists .

"" Ultra "is therefore an all-round coherent and mature album."

- Matthias Weise : Metal.de

“In addition to various old hits, some from Ultra will rightly make it into the live program. That brings us to the topic. Ost + Front are simply better launched live than canned. Often they seem too interchangeable without that certain bite, which from a purely visual point of view doesn't go together at all. "

- Rene W .: Time for Metal

"Make it or break it? Since OST + FRONT, in addition to well-staged RAMMSTEIN plagiarisms, are finally starting to set their own accents and simply deliver damn good hooks, a definite MAKE IT! "

- Christian Wilsberg : Stormbringer
