action

Jack ( Stephen Moyer ) disappears without a trace on his wedding night. This gets Detective Sergeant Michael Colefield ( Jack Davenport ) excited because Jack is not only his partner, but his friend too. When he meets him again one night, he notices that something has changed about Jack. He became a vampire. Michael doesn't know what to do anymore. On the one hand Jack is his friend, on the other hand he doesn't know what Jack's transformation into a vampire means. Is he the same person he was before, or has he evolved into an evil and dangerous being that needs to be destroyed as quickly as possible. His work colleagues believe the latter. They do everything in their power to destroy vampires and carry out medical experiments on them. They think the vampires want to enslave people. At first, Michael still believes that he has to protect Jack from his colleagues. Then, however, he notices that Jack is lying on some points. He joins his colleagues to destroy the vampires.

"Ultraviolet is probably the best sci-fi show of (relatively) modern times you have ever seen."

In its 54th Special Edition, SFX Magazine devoted itself to the Ultraviolet series, among other things. SFX magazine described the series as brilliant. The series is probably the best British sci-fi show of modern times. The screenwriter Toby Whithouse (Doctor Who, Being Human) also had a say. He is enthusiastic about ultraviolet. Ultraviolet is an incredibly cleverly conceived drama that is thought-provoking and very exciting at the same time. SFX magazine went on to say that while ultraviolet ended before its time, it inspired many later sci-fi shows. They cited Doctor Who , Missfits , Being Human, and The Fades as examples .
