Umberto Malchiodi

Umberto Malchiodi (born November 9, 1889 in Piacenza , † November 11, 1974 ) was the Catholic Bishop of Piacenza.

Life

Malchiodi was ordained a priest on June 1, 1912.

After he was on November 14, 1938 by Pope Pius XI. was appointed Archbishop of Camerino , he received the episcopal ordination on December 21 by the then Bishop of Piacenza Ersilio Menzani .

On February 18, 1946, Pope Pius XII appointed him . the coadjutor of the Diocese of Piacenza and Titular Archbishop of Serres . With the death of Archbishop (personal title) Menzani on June 30, 1961, Malchiodi became Bishop of Piacenza on the same day . Like his predecessor, he retained the personal title of archbishop. On June 2, 1969, Malchiodi consecrated the future Cardinal Ersilio Tonini as bishop.

Pope Paul VI accepted his resignation on June 3, 1969 and at the same time appointed him titular Archbishop of Astigi .
