With the Catholic branch church St. Martin, Unering owns one of the most peculiar Rococo monuments .
Built around 1731 (date on the choir arch) after the previous building, which was probably in disrepair, was demolished, St. Martin is a central building based on a uniform architectural design by Johann Michael Fischer . The graceful church stands on a moraine hill, visible from afar. The west tower was added in 1833, the church renovated from 1961 to 1965.
The main room, a square with bevelled corners, is vaulted by a flat dome with a circular floor plan on hanging gussets ( pendentives ). There the fresco Saint Martin begs Maria for protection for the poor , 1731 by Johann Georg Sang from Munich. In the spandrels four scenes from the legend of Martings. The walls in pilasters ; two curved side windows give the room bright light. Stucco festoons and putti by Johann Baptist Zimmermann and his parlier Martin Hörmannstorffer .
Three altars with figures by Johann Georg Greiff and stucco marble by Johann Baptist Zimmermann . Main altar with a life-size wooden figure of St. Martin as a knight who divides the cloak.
