Unico von der Groeben

Unico Karl Georg Graf von der Groeben (born April 18, 1861 in Potsdam , † July 2, 1924 in Berlin ) was a German diplomat, civil servant and parliamentarian.

Life

Unico von der Groeben was the son of the major in the 3rd Guard Uhlan Regiment Albrecht von der Groeben and Mathilde, nee. Countess of Kielmannsegg . After attending grammar school in Wernigerode and Bückeburg , he studied law and political science at the Rheinische Friedrich-Wilhelms-Universität Bonn and the Alma Mater Lipsiensis . In 1882 he became a member of the Corps Borussia Bonn . After graduating as Dr. jur. he entered the diplomatic service. He was a Legation Councilor and then until 1905 ao Envoy and Plenipotentiary Minister in Paris .

Von der Groeben was Fideikommissherr on Neudörfchen near Marienwerder and Freiherrlich vom and zum Steinschen Fideikommisse Cappenberg and Nassau in Westphalia. He was a hereditary member of the Prussian manor house . Groeben remained unmarried.
