The united-domains AG is a German Internet provider based in Starnberg in Munich . It has been a subsidiary of United Internet since the end of 2008 .

history

The company was founded in August 2000 by Markus Eggensperger, Alexander Helm, Johann Hermann, Florian Huber and Nikolai Tiedemann and was already in the black in 2002.

In 2003 the subsidiary united-domains reselling GmbH (then dopoly GmbH) was founded for domain resellers.

On January 7, 2004, the company was sold to Lycos Europe , which had 22 employees at the time.

At the beginning of 2009, United Internet took over the independent subsidiary for 34 million euros, with the three remaining founders Markus Eggensperger, Alexander Helm and Florian Huber remaining on board and holding around 15 percent of the company. In the profitable company at that time, 50 employees looked after around 180,000 customers with 1.1 million Internet addresses.

2011, the foundation was a US office in Boston , as Inc. United Domains, operates. The US business was transferred to the German parent company in 2019 and the US branch was closed.

In 2015 United Internet took over the company completely.

At the turn of the year 2017/2018, Florian Huber resigned from the board and in October 2018 Tobias Sattler was appointed as a new board member.

In 2018 the company achieved sales of EUR 34.6 million with a profit of EUR 11.5 million and 63 employees.
