The University of Indonesia ( Indonesian : Universitas Indonesia , abbreviated to UI ) is the largest state university in Indonesia with locations in Jakarta ⊙ and Depok ⊙ . It was opened under its current name in 1950, its predecessor institution was founded in 1851. On December 26, 2000 , the university was granted autonomous status by the Indonesian government.

The UI is headed by a rectorate consisting of the rector and three vice-rectors. You are responsible to the Board of Trustees and the University Council.
