The University of Montevallo is a state university in Montevallo in the US state of Alabama . There are currently 3,000 students enrolled in the Liberal Arts College .

history

The University of Montevallo was founded in 1867 as the Alabama Girls' Industrial School for women. From 1956, male students were also admitted. After several name changes, it was given its current name in 1969.

Sports

The University of Montevallo sports teams are the Falcons . The college is a member of the Gulf South Conference .
