Uno Sixten Öhrlund (born May 22, 1937 in Västerås ) is a former Swedish ice hockey player .

Career

Uno Öhrlund began his career as a hockey player in his hometown at IFK Västerås , for which he was active in the then third-class Division 3 in the 1954/55 season . The winger then played for the city neighbor Västerås IK in Division 2 and Division 1 for eleven years . The 1966/67 season he spent with the second division Tingsryds AIF , before he completed another three years at Västerås IK in Division 1. Then he was only on the ice in lower leagues in his home country - initially from 1970 to 1972 for the Surahammars IF in Division 2, then for one year each for the third division IFK Arboga , the Skogsbo SK from Division 2 and finally in the 1974/75 season again in Division 3 for Morgårdshammars IF .

International

For Sweden , Öhrlund took part in the 1964 Winter Olympics in Innsbruck , where he and his team won the silver medal. He was also in his country's squad at the 1962 , 1963 and 1965 World Championships . At the 1962 World Cup, he and his team won the gold medal. As the best European team, Sweden also became European champions. In addition, he and his team won the silver medal at the 1963 World Cup and the bronze medal at the 1965 World Cup.
