Unrated: The Movie is a German splatter film by Andreas Schnaas and Timo Rose . The film, released in 2009, marks the first collaboration between the two directors.

action

Frank, an untalented director who has only made two short films so far, wants to direct his first full-length feature film together with his actresses Kassandra, Samantha, Pamela and Sarah in an old forest hut. Filming is difficult because the filmmaker is afraid of women and the location is pretty shabby. The situation also escalates between the actors, as Kassandra, an aging film star, turns on all members of the team and otherwise acts very arrogant. By chance the director discovers an ancient book, the "Book of Nightmares". He wants to use it as a prop despite Samantha's warnings. But then strange things happen. "Karl the Butcher" (known from the Violent Shit series by Andreas Schnaas) and the mysterious guardian of the book appear. "Karl the Butcher" castrates Frank and kills him. Zombies then appear and decimate the rest of the crew, only Samantha survives. She defends herself and kills all zombies and "Karl the Butcher" and manages to send the guardian back to hell. At the end, “Karl the Butcher” appears again.

background

The film marks the first collaboration between the two independent directors Schnaas and Rose. The collaboration was with Karl the Butcher vs. Ax , the unofficial fourth installment in the Violent Shit series. As in earlier films by Timo Rose, a porn film actress like Vivian Schmitt could be won as actresses . The two horror film actresses Eileen Daly ( Cradle of Fear ), Eleanor James and the musical actress Magdalèna Kalley can also be seen . The film contains allusions to horror film classics. The plot is reminiscent of the Devil's Dance , the make-up of the zombies is based on the zombie films by George A. Romero , as well as the Knights Templar costumes from The Night of the Riding Corpses . Phone sex hotlines and musicals are also being made fun of.

Two Power Metal pieces by Andreas Schnaas and a hip hop song by Rose form the film's soundtrack.

The film, shot entirely in English, premiered on October 10, 2009 as part of the Splatterday Night Fever series at Cinestar -Saarbrücken. An unchecked version in English without German subtitles was published by Laser Paradise in 2010.
