Among Brothers (original title: Brothers ) is an American television series that was produced and broadcast from 1984 to 1989 by the pay TV channel Showtime . 115 episodes of 22 to 24 minutes each were created in five seasons.

The sitcom focuses on brothers Joe ( Robert Walden ), Lou ( Brandon Maggart ) and Cliff Waters ( Paul Regina ). Joe runs a bar called The Point After , the show's main location, where the waitress Kelly ( Robin Riker ) is often busy mediating between the three. In the first episode, Cliff explains to his brothers that he is gay and introduces them to his extravagant friend Donald ( Philip Charles MacKenzie ). While Joe sympathizes with him, the eldest brother Lou tries to “cure” Cliff of his homosexuality .

Other regular characters include Penny ( Hallie Todd ), Joe's daughter from his first marriage, his girlfriend Sam ( Mary Ann Pascal ) and Lou's daughter Louella ( Yeardley Smith ).
