Untereuerheim is a district of the Lower Franconian community Grettstadt in the district of Schweinfurt .
Geographical location
Untereuerheim is located northeast of Grettstadt.
South of Untereuerheim, section A 70 runs in an east-west direction between the motorway exits 9 Schonungen and 10 Haßfurt . The B 303 also runs north of Untereuerheim in an east-west direction .
The St 2277 leading through Untereuerheim leads west to Weyer and south to Obereuerheim .
history
A possible first mention of Untereuerheim as "Uraheim" can be found in the monastery books of the Fulda monastery and the St. Stephan monastery in Würzburg . This uncertainty is related to the same origin of the Untereuerheim and the Obereuerheim.
At the time of the Middle Ages, Untereuerheim had several owners, including the Ebrach Monastery , the Würzburg Monastery and the Lords of Henneberg ; A document from 1320 documents a mill that belonged to the convent of Maria Burghausen . Regarding the jurisdiction, Untereuerheim belonged to the Centamt Karlsberg.
In 1585, 219 residents of Untereuerheim fell victim to a plague epidemic. A vow in connection with the epidemic established the tradition of an annual pilgrimage to Dettelbach in the village .
In the 16th century the castle mill, which used to belong to the castle of Obereuerheim and is still in operation today, was built. The local church of St. Gallus was built under the Würzburg prince-bishop Julius Echter von Mespelbrunn .
On May 1, 1978 Untereuerheim became part of Grettstadt as part of the municipal reform.
