history

Unterhöhenstetten is mentioned in 1308 as the Hohensteten in a document from the Niedernburg convent in Passau . At that time the place was already part of the Passau bishopric . The place belonged to the office Waldkirchen of the nursing court Leoprechting and was 1803 with the largest part of the Passau area in favor of the electorate of Salzburg by Ferdinand III. secularized by Tuscany . It fell to Bavaria in 1805 . With the formation of the communities in 1818 on the basis of the second Bavarian community edict of May 17, 1818, the community of Unterhöhenstetten was formed. In addition to Unterhöhenstetten, it also comprised the places Bernhardsberg, Breinhof, Gaisberg, Holzfreyung, Kühn, Neidlingerberg, Niederstocking (only from 1875 to 1888), Oberhöhenstetten, Ödhof, Saßbach, Saßbachmühle, Stocking and Unholdenberg. The community was incorporated into Waldkirchen on April 1, 1971.
