Böhmzwiesel is a district of the town of Waldkirchen in the Lower Bavarian district of Freyung-Grafenau . Until 1978 it formed an independent municipality.

location

The parish village of Böhmzwiesel is located in the Bavarian Forest about four kilometers northeast of Waldkirchen.

history

The settlement emerged in the Middle Ages on the important trade route Goldener Steig . At the Ilzstädter Landtag in 1256, the residents of Böhmzwiesel were granted the exclusive right to use the route from Passau to Prachatitz from the sovereign, Prince-Bishop of Passau, Otto von Lonsdorf , together with those from Waldkirchen, Schiefweg and Fürholz as well as the Bohemians . At the same time, the bishop, as sovereign, granted certain securities. This is how Böhmzwiesel developed into a stately street village. It was subordinate to the Waldkirchen office of the Leoprechting nursing court in the Passau bishopric . In 1787 the place consisted of twelve properties. It was secularized by Archduke Ferdinand of Tuscany in 1803 with most of the Hochstift area in favor of the Electorate of Salzburg and only fell to Bavaria in 1805 .

The municipality Böhmzwiesel went with the municipality edict of 1818 from the same tax district of the tax district and parts Front Freundorf forth. With effect from January 1, 1946, Reut was assigned to the municipality of Karlsbach , Kronwinkel and Exenbach to the municipality of Fürholz and Oedhof to the municipality of Hintereben . On the other hand, Auerbach, Edelmühle, Solla and Stadl were added from the dissolved municipality of Stadl. Thus, the municipality Böhmzwiesel in the Wolfstein district now consisted of the districts Auerbach, Böhmzwiesel, Edelmühle, Ensmannsreut , Höhenberg, Kanau, Mayersäge, Pilgramsberg, Schlößbach, Solla, Stadl and Stierberg.

The Expositur , established in 1937, was raised to the parish of Böhmzwiesel in 1966. On January 1, 1978, the municipality of Böhmzwiesel was incorporated into the town of Waldkirchen as part of the regional reform in Bavaria . In 1987 Böhmzwiesel had 361 inhabitants.
