Anton Recknagel

Anton Recknagel (born February 20, 1906 in Munich , † June 27, 1980 in Augsburg ) was a German architect at the Post Building School .

Life

1924 to 1928 Anton Recknagel studied architecture at the Technical University of Munich , among others, Theodor Fischer . In 1926 he worked as a student trainee for the linguist Bruno Schweizer in Dießen am Ammersee . From 1926 to 1927 he was an intern at the Oberpostdirektion Munich and, after his studies, trainee lawyer until 1931 . He then worked as a freelance architect until he got a job at the Hof Agriculture Authority in 1936 and at the Munich Agriculture Authority from 1939 to 1940.

After serving in the war, Recknagel became a prisoner of war. After the intercession of the Bishop of Passau , however, he was released early and was subsequently responsible for numerous church buildings and, as an employee of the Würzburg agricultural department, was responsible for the reconstruction of the residential city. From 1951 to 1964 Recknagel was a member of the board of the Landbauamt Augsburg and from 1964 to 1971 building construction advisor to the government of Swabia . He was also a member of the episcopal art commission in Augsburg.
