Uriah Ashley

Uriah Adolphus Ashley Maclean (born February 1, 1944 in Almirante , Panama ) is a Panamanian Roman Catholic clergyman and auxiliary bishop emeritus in Panama .

Life

Uriah Ashley received on 15 August 1979, the sacrament of Holy Orders .

On December 18, 1993, Pope John Paul II appointed him first bishop of the diocese of Penonomé, which was established on the same date . The Pope himself donated him episcopal ordination on January 6, 1994 ; Co-consecrators were the official in the Vatican State Secretariat , Archbishop of the Curia Giovanni Battista Re , and the Secretary of the Congregation for the Evangelization of Peoples , Archbishop of the Curia Josip Uhač .

On June 25, 2015, Pope Francis appointed him auxiliary bishop in the Archdiocese of Panama and titular bishop of Agbia .

Pope Francis accepted his age-related resignation on April 26, 2019.
