Urs Wäckerli

Urs Wäckerli (* 17th April 1945 in Zurich ; real name: Urs Peter Wäckerle ) is a Swiss jazz - violinist , filmmakers and operator of jazz and cultural clubs "Lebewohlfabrik".

Life

After graduating as a biochemist from ETH (dipl.sc.nat) in Zurich in 1970, he worked for several years as a musician and freelance journalist in Barcelona and Geneva . In 1978 he founded the " String Jazz Quintet " together with the guitarist Harald Haerter . From 1979 he worked as a music journalist for the Zürcher Tages-Anzeiger , the Swiss radio DRS and the Swiss television . In 1984 he set up the local radio " Förderband " in Bern . A year later he became editor-in-chief and director of the local radio station Wil (St.Gallen). In 1988 he founded his own film production company " Allmedia Productions ". In 2003 he opened the “ Lebewohlfabrik ” jazz and culture club in Zurich.
