Ursula Bruns

Ursula Bruns (born September 1, 1922 in Bocholt ; †  April 22, 2016 ) was a German author , horse expert and co-founder and first secretary of the German Pony Club .

Author

Ursula Bruns studied art history and German. The Immenhof films , based on her novel Dick and Dalli and the Ponies , go back to Ursula Bruns . In addition to about 40 other works, she wrote 13 old donkeys , a book that was filmed with Hans Albers and Marianne Hoppe - like the other books by Bruns in a greatly modified form .

Publisher

Bruns founded the magazine Pony-Post in 1958 and in 1969, building on this, started enjoying free time in the saddle . The magazine was sold after five decades and appeared as Pegasus - Freizeit im sattel .

Riding instructor

In their riding school in Reken , many students learned how to sit correctly in the saddle, known as easy riding .

Ursula Bruns (also called "UB") and Inge Behr (adult educator) developed an educational concept as a kind of "elementary school of riding" for an effective and horse-friendly riding lesson for adult recreational riders (especially beginners or those returning to riding): the BB method (Bruns / Behr -Method). This training concept for rider and horse was supplemented in collaboration with Linda Tellington-Jones (TTEAM - work) and Rolf Becher (Chiron jumping).

Ursula Bruns was one of the pioneers in keeping open stables. She has shaped recreational riding in Germany .

Ursula Bruns lived in Spain for a long time , but most recently again in Germany near Reken. In 2005 she received the "Golden Needle with Diamonds" from the IPZV ( Icelandic Horse Riding and Breeder Association).
