Life

The daughter of Josef Suray grew Warmia, attended after the war in the People's Republic of Poland , the elementary school and continued his education. As part of the family reunification , she and her parents moved to the Federal Republic of Germany in 1957, and in 1966 married Ulrich Fox (1937–2012). Ursula Fox received her doctorate in 1966 from the University of Münster with a dissertation on banking in the European countries of the people 's democracy and then wrote several relevant non-fiction books on banking, labor markets and economic planning.

The couple lived in Paderborn-Elsen and after retirement did voluntary work at the local Maximilian Kolbe factory - they invited to Germany and, as they spoke Polish and Russian, looked after the concentration camp and ghetto survivors from Russia, Ukraine, Belarus and Poland and organized contemporary witness projects in schools, youth groups and communities. These encounters built sensory bridges between contemporary witnesses of the Nazi past and the young people as designers of the future. The Foxes have been involved in research for many years at the Historisches Verein für Ermland e. V. and published several relevant articles.

On October 5, 2009, Federal President Horst Köhler and his wife Eva Luise Köhler awarded Ursula and Ulrich Fox a Federal Cross of Merit on ribbon for their voluntary social commitment . The Apostolic Visitator of the Archdiocese of Warmia and Cathedral Chapter Lothar Schlegel congratulated the spouses on these prestigious awards .
