Ursula Fuchs

Ursula Fuchs (born April 6, 1933 in Münster ; † June 12, 2020 in Darmstadt ) was a German children's book author.

Life

Due to the war, Fuchs spent her childhood in several places in Germany. She graduated from commercial school with a secondary school leaving certificate and initially worked as a secretary from 1953 to 1959. Fuchs lived in Kassel for 17 years and worked as a freelance writer in Darmstadt. She was married and had three children, including the author Thomas Fuchs . She died on June 12, 2020 at the age of 87 in Darmstadt.

Works

Ursula Fuchs wrote short stories, television and radio programs and books for children. In the circle of the family, they wrote their own stories, some of which were broadcast on the TV show Sandmännchen . Her first book was published in 1974. In 1979 she published the book Emma or the restless time , in which she reports from her own childhood experiences.

  • 1980: German youth book award (from 1981 German youth literature award ) for Emma or the restless time
  • 1983: In the shortlist of the German Youth Literature Prize: Wiebke and Paul
  • 1984: Silver pen of the German Association of Women Doctors for Wiebke and Paul .
