Urszula Mitrenga-Wagner

Urszula Mitrenga-Wagner , née Urszula Mitręga (born February 23, 1948 in Katowice , † October 19, 2004 in Laichingen ) was a Polish pianist, opera singer (alto) and vocal and piano teacher. From 1985 until her death, she worked in Germany.

Life

From 1966 to 1971 she studied at the Katowice Music Academy in the piano class of Bolesław Woytowicz and at the singing faculty with Maria Wardi and Krystyna Świder. In 1976/1977 she studied singing in Zagreb with Ivo Lhotka-Kalinski , then for three years piano in Moscow in the master class with Victor Merzhanov and Irina Rumjanzewa. After graduating, she performed as a soloist with Polish conductors such as Witold Rowicki , Marek Pijarowski and Krzysztof Penderecki . At the same time she was active as a teacher, as assistant to Professor Andrzej Jasiński (piano) and at the singing and chanson faculty at the Katowice Music Academy.

In 1978, she was in Geneva on the singing competition as well as in Brussels on the piano competition of Queen Elizabeth excellent.

In 1985 Urszula Mitręga moved to Ulm and became a soloist at the Ulm Municipal Theater . She married Thomas Wagner and moved to Laichingen. In 1989 she was appointed lecturer at the Richard Strauss Conservatory in Munich . She taught both singing and piano and was also active as a concert pianist in Germany and Austria.

After a long illness, she died of cancer at the age of 57.
