Uschi Madeisky

Ursula " Uschi " Madeisky (* 20th century) is a German film producer .

Life

Uschi Madeisky lives and works in Frankfurt am Main . She studied pedagogy and sociology at the University of Hamburg . During her studies she worked in film productions. From 1973 to 2002 she and Klaus Werner ran the film production company Colorama, which produced films in the cultural sector for ZDF, ARD and educational institutions.

Since the mid-1990s, her work has focused on documentaries about matriarchal cultures. In 2002 she founded the film production company tomult & töchter for this purpose. She passes on her knowledge of these cultures at film screenings, lectures and congresses, she taught at the Alma Mater Academy in Karlsruhe, publishes in specialist journals and writes reviews. From 2007 to 2014 she was the main editor of the magazine Matriaval , since 2015 for the online magazine Mutterlandbriefe , which appears four times a year.

Madeisky has been committed to improving the position of women in society since she was at school. In 2002 the city of Frankfurt am Main awarded her the Tony Sender Prize for this commitment . In 2015 she was awarded the Elisabeth Selbert Prize for her life's work by the State of Hesse . She was one of the founders and on the board of directors of Filmbüro Hessen , is co-founder of the LAG Hessen for women in science and art as well as the Frankfurt Foundation for women in science and art maecenia . In 2006, together with renowned matriarchy researchers, she founded the MatriaVal e. V., of which she is chairman. Through these networks she took part in large congresses such as the World Congress for Matriarchy Research and was a co-organizer of the congresses International Mother Summit 2008 and International Goddess Congress 2010 at Hambach Castle .

For the public sector, she performed tasks as an auditor at the FSK . On the occasion of the 100th  International Women's Day , UNESCO invited her to a roundtable Matriarchal Societies around the World because of her films and her research on matriarchal societies .

In 2017, initiated and organized together with the matria oasis of Dagmar Margotsdotter and the Women's Center Towanda Congress Peaceful companies introduce themselves in the historic town hall in Jena. Representatives from various matriarchal societies were invited. She has been working with the author and filmmaker Dagmar Margotsdotter since 2000.
