Usfahrt - Joy Ride is a Swiss film from 2000 and is considered the 14th certified “ dogma film ”. The film was released on November 16, 2000.
action
A small clique of young people of apprentice age pass the time driving, drinking in bars in the agglomeration and some occasionally smoking joints. A girl (Sandra) who is a bit outside of the clique falls in love with a boy (Daniel) from it. The infatuation remains unclear and directionless and divides the group. The thoughtless and at first jokingly expressed solution proposal for the problem, "kill!", Is being taken more and more seriously. The victim is strangled from behind while driving. An attempt is made to lay the corpse on the edge of the forest and make the whole thing look like a rape. The film ends with a relative of the dead visiting one of the imprisoned perpetrators and asking for his reasons.
Dogma 95
Almost all of the leading roles are cast by laypeople and the locations are to a large extent original locations. “Usfahrt - Joy Ride” does not adhere to all of the “dogma” requirements, which are difficult to adhere to, but this is not unusual for “Dogma” films. A “dogma” rule states that music must appear “in the film” and must not be played back afterwards - in “Joy Ride”, image and sound were separated in the montage and the music dragged over the cut. There are also prostitutes on Zürcher Dammweg , although there is no red light area there. “Dogma” rule No. 6 ('The film must not contain murders') is also violated.
background
"Usfahrt - Joy Ride" is based on a true story, the murder of a 19-year-old that took place in 1992 in the Zurich Oberland (The " Observer " dedicated a report to the case, issue 6/02). The process caused a sensation in Switzerland.
Two of the perpetrators were sentenced to 14 and 16 years' imprisonment, the third was sentenced to two and a half years in a labor education institution for “aiding and abetting intentional homicide”. The victim's parents and his brother were awarded CHF 300,000 in damages and satisfaction, to be paid by the three perpetrators in joint liability .
