Ute Jung-Kaiser

Ute Jung-Kaiser , maiden name Jung (born April 16, 1942 in Essen ) is a German musicologist .

Live and act

Ute Jung completed a degree in teaching at high schools in Cologne. After her first state examination in the fields of musicology, German studies , philosophy and school music , she received her doctorate in 1968 . She passed the second state examination in 1975. In 1981 habilitated they are in historical musicology at the University of Hamburg .

From 1983 to 1996 she was professor for music education at the University of Music and Theater in Munich and then until her retirement in 2007 at the University of Music and Performing Arts in Frankfurt am Main .

She researched historical musicology from the 18th to the 20th century and, as an author and editor, published numerous monographs on Thomas Mann , Richard Wagner , Walter Braunfels , Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart , Franz Schubert , Joseph von Eichendorff , Ludwig von Beethoven , Georg Friedrich Händel , Gustav Mahler and Frédéric Chopin .
