Uwe-Jens Nissen (born January 26, 1919 in Uelzen ; † November 27, 1991 in Wolfsburg ) was a German doctor and politician ( SPD ).

Nissen married Else Lisa born on March 29, 1951 in Wolfsburg. von Buch , widowed von Arnim (born August 15, 1920 in Stolpe (Oder) , † April 30, 2005, buried in Wolfsburg-Rothenfelde ), a daughter of Johann Siegfried von Buch-Stolpe (1881–1961) and Vera geb. Freiin von Kottwitz from Cossar (1883–1964).

Life and work

After attending school in Hamburg and graduating from high school in Berlin in 1938 , Nissen took part in World War II as a soldier from 1939 , from which he returned as a severely disabled person. Then he studied medicine at the University of Berlin in which he in 1945 with the medical state examination and in 1949 with the graduation to the Dr. med. finished.

Nissen worked as a doctor in international refugee aid in 1945/46. He then worked full-time as a company doctor at Volkswagen AG in Wolfsburg . In addition, he participated in the establishment of the company medical working group in Lower Saxony . He later ran his own general medical practice in the Laagberg district of Wolfsburg (Schlesierweg 22a) .

Political party

Nissen joined the SPD in 1946 , was initially deputy chairman and since 1958 chairman of the SPD local branch in Wolfsburg.

Public offices

Nissen was a member of the German Bundestag from 1961 until his resignation on October 1, 1964 . In parliament he represented the constituency of Peine - Gifhorn .

Nissen had been mayor of the city ​​of Wolfsburg from 1955 and from 1958 to 1961 as Lord Mayor . He resigned from this office on charges of passive bribery two days after the election as a member of the Bundestag.
