Career

Uwe Erich from Neustadt in Holstein played for Meidericher SV in the first-class Oberliga West from 1959 to 1963 . He made his debut on the second round matchday in 1959/60, on August 30, 1959, in a 1-0 home win against Schwarz-Weiß Essen under coach Helmut Kronsbein in the "Zebras" league team. He formed the right wing of the eleven from Meiderich on the right wing with half forward Heinz Versteeg . In the last year of the league, he played a successful round with MSV under coach Willi Multhaup and alongside other players such as Ludwig Nolden , Hartmut Heidemann , Werner Krämer and Werner Lotz . It came in third and the Duisburg team was accepted into the newly created Bundesliga. Erich had completed 44 games in the league from 1959 to 1963, in which he scored ten goals. On March 31, 1963, he distinguished himself as a right winger in the 2-0 away win against Wuppertaler SV as a two-time goalscorer.

In the subsequent Bundesliga season 1963/64 he came in the team, which was runner-up, on two missions. The attackers Heinz Versteeg, Helmut Rahn , Horst Gecks and Gustav Walenciak were given preference in the team of coach Rudi Gutendorf . On March 21, 1964, he was used for the first time in the Bundesliga in a 3: 3 away draw against Hamburger SV . He played on the right wing and had primarily dealt with HSV defender Jürgen Kurbjuhn . Half right Gecks brought Meiderich 3-0 up with three goals. Six days later, Erich stormed the Bundesliga for the second time, in a 2-5 away defeat at Hertha BSC . Erich left MSV and played for Arminia Bielefeld for the next five years from the 1964/65 season . For Bielefeld he scored ten goals in 76 games in the Regionalliga West . Erich, who now moved to the right defensive position, experienced the most successful round in the 1966/67 season , when under coach Hans Wendlandt and with goal scorer Ernst Kuster (23 goals) the third place was achieved. Erich had scored seven goals in 33 league games. On the last day of the round, Arminia lost the runner -up in the stadium at the Zoo against Wuppertaler SV and thus made it into the Bundesliga promotion round . In the 22nd minute of the game, Erich had awarded a penalty. After the 1968/69 season, he ended his higher-class career.

Then he let his career end with TuS Dornberg as a player-coach and Spvg Versmold . He is a trained carpenter .
