Uwe Hansen (born September 19, 1938 in Hamburg ) is a German politician ( SPD ) and Low German author.

Hansen passed the secondary school leaving certificate at the Osterbrookschule. At first he was a seaman and after acquiring the captain's license as a helmsman in the small voyage, he became a member of the Hamburg professional fire brigade . For the fire brigade he was also press spokesman, chairman of the staff council and head of the Billstedt fire station from 1987 to 1989 .

Hansen was a member of parliament in the Hamburg Mitte district and was a member of the state executive committee of the Hamburg SPD as deputy state chairman. On June 29, 1984, he entered the German Bundestag as a member of the SPD state list , to which he was a member until 1987. He replaced Horst Gobrecht , who was appointed Hamburg Senator for Finance . From 1989 to 2003 Hansen headed the Hamburg-Finkenwerder local office .

Hansen belongs to the Plattdüütschraat för Hamborg and was a member of the Bundesraat för Nedderdüütsch from 2004 to 2013 . A Low German column written by him appeared in over 900 issues a week in the newspaper Harburger Werbung und Nachrichten , a selection of which appeared in a book in 2006. As a member of the board of the Kulturkreis Finkenwerder e. V. he was one of the initiators from 2005 and then until 2015 responsible for the invitation to tender, winning jurors and the overall organization of the awarding of the Finkenwerder Art Prize , including the associated exhibitions.
