Uwe Kanning

Uwe Peter Kanning (born March 5, 1966 ) is a German psychologist .

Life

After graduating from the Albert Einstein High School in Duisburg in 1985 , he studied psychology, pedagogy and sociology in Münster and Canterbury . In 1993 he received his diploma in psychology, in 1997 he was awarded a Dr. phil. PhD. From 1997 to 2009 Kanning was a research associate and project manager in a university-owned management consultancy at the Westphalian Wilhelms University of Münster. In 2007 he completed his habilitation in psychology.

Since 2009 he has been professor of business psychology at the Osnabrück University of Applied Sciences .

Act

Kanning is an expert in personnel diagnostics and has made a contribution to educating people about pseudosciences in personnel selection and management. He is also committed to evidence-based human resource management. The transfer from theory to practice is also a focus of his activities. This includes topics such as leadership , personnel selection , social skills , personnel development, aptitude diagnostics . From a scientific point of view, he also deals critically with controversial procedures and methods such as language analysis or computer technology in personnel management, graphology , neurolinguistic programming , skull interpretation , physiognomics , coaching .
