Uwe Lissau

Uwe Lissau (born September 22, 1952 in Bremerhaven ) was President of the Bremerhaven District Court from 1991 to 2018.

biography

Lissau studied music and law at the University of Göttingen from 1971 to 1977 . After his legal clerkship in the district of the Higher Regional Court of Celle, he worked briefly as a lawyer in Bremerhaven in 1979/80 until he joined the judicial service of the Free Hanseatic City of Bremen in November 1980 . After judicial activities at the Bremerhaven Local Court , Bremen Regional Court and the Hanseatic Higher Regional Court of Bremen , Lissau became President of the Bremerhaven Local Court on January 1, 1991. He retired on September 30, 2018.

In addition to his judicial work, Lissau has been involved in the SPD-related workers' welfare for many years .

State Court

The Bremen citizenship elected Lissau for the 14th legislative period (1995–1999), 17th legislative period (2007–2011), 18th legislative period (2011–2015) and 19th legislative period (2015–2019) as a member of the State Court of the Free Hanseatic City of Bremen , of which he was last vice-president.

Because of the election of his wife Claudia Schilling as senator, he was no longer available for a new election in the 20th legislative period in order to avoid conflicts of interest.

Scientific activities

Lissau has been teaching commercial law at the Bremerhaven University of Applied Sciences since 2003 and is one of the founders of the Institute for Logistics Law and Risk Management. At the fk-wind: Institute for Wind Energy at the Bremerhaven University of Applied Sciences, he teaches building planning and energy law. Since 2010 he has also been teaching international and European business law at the University of Bremen with a focus on insolvency law.

In 2017 he received his doctorate with a thesis on real estate enforcement law under Lorenz Kähler and Gralf-Peter Calliess .

Series of publications

He is the editor and co-author of a series of publications on current and historical aspects of the Bremerhaven District Court, the forerunner of which was the Lehe Court , which can be traced back to the 13th century.

  • His efforts to shape justice as a service for the citizen were recognized in 2007 at the Artus Prize for de-bureaucratisation .
  • Klaus-Peter Wolf paid tribute to Uwe Lissau as President of the Bremerhaven District Court in his 2012 crime thriller Nachtblauer Tod.
