Uwe Murmann

Uwe Murmann (* 1963 ) is a German lawyer and university professor .

Life

After studying law at the Johann Wolfgang Goethe University in Frankfurt am Main , Murmann passed the first state examination in law in 1988. In 1991 he received his doctorate under Ernst Amadeus Wolff . This was followed by a legal clerkship at the Darmstadt Regional Court , which he graduated with the second state examination in 1994.

Murmann then worked as a lawyer in the field of commercial criminal law in Frankfurt am Main , before working as a research assistant at the Institute for Criminal Law and Legal Theory at the Albert Ludwig University of Freiburg with Wolfgang Frisch. With a habilitation grant from the German Research Foundation , he received his habilitation in 2003 and he was granted the license to teach in the subjects of criminal law , criminal procedural law and legal philosophy .

After being a professor at the universities of Freiburg and Erlangen , Murmann became a public prosecutor and then a criminal judge in Berlin .

He turned down a professorship for criminal law and legal philosophy at the Ludwig Maximilians University in Munich and in the 2006/07 winter semester accepted a professorship for criminal law and criminal procedural law from the Georg August University in Göttingen (successor to Fritz Loos ).
